UPDATE: The Fairfields Fall Festival scheduled for Saturday, October 16, 2021 has been CANCELLED due to an increase in the number of COVID cases in the area. Fairfields will see about hosting a festival next year. Stay tuned!

 

UPDATE: The Fairfields UMC church picnic scheduled for Saturday, September 11, 2021 is CANCELLED due to an increase in the number of COVID cases in the area. 

The Fairfields UMC Indoor Yard Sale will be open at various times in coming weeks. Stay tuned for more information. Also, you may contact Jill Davis at 804-580-8127 to make an appointment to attend the yard sale on an individual basis.

 

Information about the Good News Club and a registration form for participants can be found here. The Good News Club is an exciting, fun-filled, after-school Bible club for children in grades K-5. The Good News Club is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship and is sponsored locally by several Northumberland County churches including Fairfields United Methodist Church.

 You are very welcome to attend an in-person, in-church worship service every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. This service is also livestreamed and may be viewed in real time or at a later time by going to the Fairfields United Methodist Church Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pg/fairfieldsumc/videos/?ref=page_internal  OR you may access the live stream video at a later time in the same manner. 

Many church activities have resumed. Please look for upcoming activities and meeting dates on the website under the heading “Sunday Bulletin Announcements.” A weekly Bible study meets at Afton UMC at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and a weekly Bible study meets at Fairfields UMC at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday mornings. Both Bible studies continue to meet in person at the respective churches OR may be accessed via the Zoom video conferencing program. Contact the Charge office for information on how to join the Bible studies via Zoom.

Mark your contribution to the attention of the Financial Secretary, who will pick up your check, record it, and deposit it in the church operating account in a timely manner.

Please note: The Northumberland Charge office is open once again during normal office hours (Tuesday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and masks are optional.

Sunday Worship: Sunday worship is at 9:30 a.m. and is also livestreamed and  can be  accessed online on the Fairfields UMC Facebook page. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month.

Pastor: John C. Wright. Retired engineer-now-pastor; excited, eager, common sense guy

Music: Barbara Hays. Well-trained; enthusiastic; energetic; caring

Choir Rehearsal: The choir is not meeting currently. Normally, it meets on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.; new voices welcome!

Bible Study: Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. in the Fairfields social hall

Nelia Tingle: The Nelia Tingle Fellowship is not meeting currently. Normally, it meets  every month on the 2nd Thursday, 6:00 p.m. in the Fairfields social hall, except during the months of June-September

United Methodist Men (UMM): The UMM is not meeting currently. The UMM normally meets for a breakfast meeting on the last Saturday of every month. Rotates meetings between Fairfields UMC and Afton UMC (located at 5130 Hacks Neck Road in Ophelia).
