Choir practice @ Sanctuary
Mar 27 @ 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Adult choir practice is every Wednesday from 7 to 8 p. m.  All are invited  to come regardless of vocal training. There is no audition. We only ask that you bring a desire to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through music!

The choir is 10-12 folks who enjoy harmonizing in hopes it will bless your worship experience. At services, you will frequently hear solos, routinely hear a flutist, often a clarinet, and flute/clarinet duets. Sometimes a guitar and percussion instruments are added. The Ministry of Music strives to lift up the power of praise during worship with the use of a variety of musical styles and performers.

On special occasions a group of five to eight children may sing using hand motions. These special Sundays are celebrated with additional music by soloists, a cantata, or pageants with costumes.

Groups from other churches have come to share in song or praise dance. Sometimes all or part of our choir sings at events in the community.

Our choir is a happy group that has fun. You are certainly welcome to join.

We have robes for special occasions such as Easter and Christmas. But on most Sundays the choir wears regular attire.

Bible Study @ Fairfields church Social Hall | Heathsville | Virginia | United States

Thursday Bible studies are discussion sessions open to anyone and attended by Christians from Fairfields and other churches. Regular attendees purchase study guide books. There are generally extra copies for the use of guests or folks who are ‘trying out’ the studies to gauge their interest. Walk-ins are welcome.

Between meetings, they read the lesson and at the meetings they discuss the text and questions. Discussion topics often center around their personal experiences and challenges in applying Biblical principles to their daily lives. They can go well beyond the text and have fostered a supportive, caring and honest group atmosphere.

Over the past couple of years they have completed studies of several New and Old Testament books, and began Ephesians in September 2018. In addition to the flexible structure outlined above the group enjoys laughter, sharing about families and other facets of their lives, and being together. Often they go to lunch after the meetings, and join in other social activities.

Daytime meetings are not convenient to everyone and Fairfields is prepared, and eager, to form other study groups that could get together in the evenings, weekends, or whenever and wherever it’s convenient.

CMU @ Nino's Pizza
Mar 28 @ 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Christian Men United (CMU) is a non-denominational group of Christian men who believe that racial division has no place in Jesus’ church. The men seek to show our community the love of Christ and racial cooperation through various activities. We repair and build home items for people in need, such as handicap ramps, at no charge. We attend community events as a group, attired in matching CMU shirts

CMU dinner meetings are on the last Thursday of each month, typically at Nino’s due to its availability of a separate room.

Fairfields is a supporting church of CMU.

Nelia Tingle social @ Social Hall
Apr 11 @ 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

This Fellowship started years ago in memory of beloved member and long-term Sunday School teacher Cornelia Tingle. ‘Nelia’ was very involved in Fairfields’ mission work and when she passed her adult Sunday School began to meet to carry on her work.

Nelia Tingle social

The tradition stuck. They gather monthly, October through June, on the 2nd Thursday at 6 pm for a covered dish meal and business meeting. They do not meet in July and August, and typically have a picnic in September.

The group’s mission work includes supporting activities like the local Food Pantry, and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. They also collect and deliver supplies to county schools twice a year, and conduct annual Christmas toy drives for local needy children. They support CHEF to help deserving local students defray education costs. And they make love baskets for shut-ins.

There’s no ‘membership roll’ and they’d love for you to come join them.
